My truck had the same, what I did was remove the receiver from around the ignition. Get a regular key made, and take the "chip" key and tape it to the receiver and tuck it under the dash. Now I can start the truck with a regular key. I know its ghetto but no way am I paying 100+ for a key on a 13 year old truck!
