Well he lied. Said it was a 5.0 ended up being a 4.0 but I still got the 8.8 rear end.

Even that was bogus. It was an 8.8. But it was open rusted to shit and he wanted 100$ for it.

Oh it was missing a drum too. Lol so Im currently in the army and going to school. And my high performance teacher keeps teasing me with the idea of doing a 4.6L turbo'd and supercharged.

Can't help you there I don't have any experience with a 4.6. I can however tell you that the 347 stroker and my cougar make 612 horsepower to the crank with no turbo or supercharger.

I have been considering supercharging my engine. Weiand says their kit gives that motor a 40 percent power gain, meaning I would be in the 800 range.

Don't even go the 4.6 route. Go with a 5.0 roller. So much simpler and easier to maintain, not to mention cheaper. DOHC 4.6s are expensive to do mods, like cam swaps because you need two of everything. And I picked up my headers for mine last night.

347 in a ranger? That'd be awesome to see! Not sure you'll ever hook up the rear end though. I have heard that with a little welding the IRS set up from the 99-04 mustang SVT cobras will fit. And some of them are rated for 1000hp.
Power is easy to come by with $$$, it's getting it to the ground where you're gonna spend some frustration.
Of course, just my 2 cents.
