I think the outcome would be totally worth it.

I do to, but if I was going to do it, I wouldnt use that garbage from an explorer, I would use a 5spd and transfer case from an f-150 and modify the crossmember in the ranger or make one to use that setup. I would also use at least an 8.8 rear and dana 44 straight axel up front. Now that ranger would be awesome. You may not have a bad time, but doing it right will take a lot of time.

My question to yall is. How can I build this motor to where it is capable of handling my everyday abuse. I ride my 3.0 like its a nascar engine, and I would love my 302 to do the same. I get in to light to light races often cuz Im a military hot head. Lol but never break the law. And I just think it'd be bad ass to kill a subaru in a 1/4 mile light to light. Lol so any help would he appreciated or links I can follow. I love reading so get at me! Truck is a 99 ranger 3.0 2wd(temporarily) has 96xxx miles.

Im not doubting your intelligence or skill at all, so dont take this the wrong way, but if it wouldnt be hard to switch a 2wd to a 4wd, why are you asking us how to build an engine?

Okay, first time with a 302 then huh? I've got a 347 stroker in my 67 cougar, 1 of these days I'll have to go out and take a video of it running, you will be impressed with how the small blocks can turn out.

Idk. I love my ranger. But id rather have a 4wd to start with. Cuz I want to do the supercharged 302 awd. So I can tear up all the little ricers in town.

Look at it like this man, if you put a good rear end in that truck invest in a nice set of wheels and about a 12 inch wide sticky tire like a Mickey Thompson or hoosier DOT drag, not only would you be able to beat those ricers off of the line, you could probably even lift the front wheels off of the ground which would be awesome

Curb weight of my truck is 2400 pounds wet before my lift and tires. Lol that would be intense. I'm debating taking the lift off and getting another ranger to lift and mud and what not.
