Question Im gonna need some help

So i dont really know where to start with this but ill try my best. My current ranger is a 3.0 vulcan, and as nice as that is its just not enough. Ive been hearing from people that i should drop a 302 in it. Ive looked it up and it seems to be fairly popular, so cant be that hard right? Im not going to be doing this myself, I want to have it done professionally just because as i am a truck enthusiast im not a mechanic im above average but thats not much where i come from. Anyone know general places where i could get one?New or used? Pricing estimates? Just give me the 101 one engine swap. Thanks guys

Hey I just put a 5.0 in my ranger. It's a lot of work it depends on how much your budget is and how much modifying you want to do

Well My budget is going to be fairly decent I figured its gonna cost a couple grand but if I can i want to keep it under two. The modifying I really want to keep minimal as possible, but if it doesnt fit then I guess i might have to. Any suggestions, tips, and warnings?

Well I have 6 grand into mine. If your doing a 5 speed you will have to cut the floor for the shifter. It sit about 8 inches from stock. You will have half an inch of space between the rad and the fan. You will have to hook your speedo to the front abs sensor to make it work. It is a very tight fit

Jeez 6 grand? You must have a damn nice engine, well if its 6 grand thats not going to be for a while then I mean thats pretty steep from what i was thinking. I dont know if i wanted to do auto or clutch im a fan of clutches but i just dont know yet. Hmm so im going to have to cut out a bit so i have some space between the radiator and fan thats not that big of a deal. I dont have abs so nothing to worry about there. So 6 grand just on the engine alone?

I just did mine, put a 5spd manual and kept 4wd, spent right around 2 grand.

After i got all the parts about a week of working on it before and after work. I used a 97 motor in a 2000 ranger, works but the wiring was worse than if I'd have found a 99+ motor
