Exclamation More PATS information

I've searched high and low on the internet for an answer to this question and no one covers the subject anywhere. It is mentioned in some forums but very breifly. I have a 2000 Ranger that has PATS and i am putting in a 97 Explorer engine and PCM that doesn't have PATS. Besides unplugging the PATS module located behind the passenger airbag and the transceiver around the ignition is there anything else that needs to be done inside the cab to get it to start? Oh and on my truck the PATS system won't even let it crank if the wrong key is used. It IS type B i've had a locksmith make me new keys before and program them to the vehicle.

What about the starting system? I know the engine will run but right now when i turn the key everything goes black just like when i was using the wrong key before.

same ignition, think i may have found the problem have yet to try and fix it- the transmission range sensor- the wires i spliced to signal nuetral- Haynes and Chilton are a big piece of shit when it comes to wiring advice. Do you know which wires exactly i need to splice?

Easy find... . Has info on the whole swap, even the PATS system.

I've seen that one, doesn't show how to find a new ground for the starter relay after you remove the pats system and it also didn't say anything about jumping transmission wires when going to a manual transmission.
