Default Re: No oil pressure after oil change! Help!

If the lines are reversed and the oil filter (like the FL1A) has an anti drain back valve it will only flow oil in one direction.

I tried a cheap filter at first, then swapped to a Motorcraft FL-1A. Same results, so I doubt it is the filter.

I dropped the pan out and found the pick-up is suspect. It appears to be a rear sump pick-up, but the pan is a 91 T-Bird double sump pan. The PO decided to bend the pick-up to fit. When he did this, the pick-up kinked and cracked. The crack would keep me from pulling a prime out of the pump. I keep drawing air out of the crack, just like a broken soda straw...

So it must have been overfilled on oil to keep air out of the crack.

That would be my guess. If my engine burned any oil, pressure would go to zero and I would have been stranded. I am fortunate that things worked out the way they did.
