Default carb or efi?

ok so i know i want to do a 302 swap from 4.0 ohv but should i go with efi or a carb. i don't like to think about all the wiring I'm gonna have to do thats why I'm thinking carb.

depends on if your state does emissions if they do getting a engine with a carb to pass in todays emission standards is hard and you will probably end up putting efi on it

you're going to have to deal with wiring one way or another. get used to it.

In most cases a carb is not tuned to your specific engine and drive train configuration out of the box.

Carb is tuneable and less electronics, but the time you spend tuning the stupid thing is comparable to adapting a wiring harness. The benefit of EFI is that you just wire the shit up and it just works. Take your pick.

If you have EFI components to do the swap, then there's no point in going with a carb. Do some research on the carb you're thinking about buying. There is more to it than adjusting some screws.

I would make that call based on what your going to use your rig for, but generally speaking efi would be best in almost all cases.

ok efi it is thanks ! its gonna end being used as prerrunner but also what year explorer or mustang 5.0 would be best for a 2000 ranger?

the explorer 5.0 bolts right up. Not sure about the mustang.
