Default what engines will fit into a 1985 ford ranger pickup?

currently has a 4 cylinder with a 5 speed manual transmison, saddly thats all the info i currently have on it

Any engine you want. Engine mounts are pretty easy to get from a local machine shop, but I would recommend using a 460 with 429 SCJ heads and plenty of other performance parts to make those wheels spin a little faster and with a little more torque. cheap and easy to put a 302/5.0 in your truck, you can get most of everything form a mustang/crownvic...

88 ranger ext cab....propelled via a 6.5 diesel tickling 4l80 cog box, with a f208 hanging on for dear life trying to spin 1 tons turning from 33 to 44 inch tires depending on the days agenda.

could you send me a parts list for installing the BBf. I have a 460 with the alum cobrajet heads with roller cam. And also have 351/408. Never thought the 460 would fit. Give me some imput.
