Re: 350 SBC In a Ranger.....
sbc would definitely be the way to go, the 5.0 is decent but its been overdone for sure. the 350 is also cheaper to build in general, performance parts and entire engines are easier to comebuy than the ford counterpart, thats why at work we drop sbc's into the fox bodies more often than any other motor, cheaper, easier to find, lighter, and you cant beat em! i noticed you dont have a descriptive sig, whats your truck info? ive been gathering parts for a sbc drivetrain swap myself, now i have fulltime axles, a 350, headers, cummins springs, np203 tcase, and my buddy has connections at the drivetrain shop for my driveshafts, just lookin out for a cheap built trans and sometime on my hands! keep us updated!

I have a 2004 Ford Ranger Edge with a 3.0 V6 engine, 5 spd manual tranny and a 8.8 rearend housing with 4.10 gears and 31 spline axles. I intend to update you guys as much as I can. My ranger needs a V8 and I also plan on using a ranger drivetrain in my T-bucket, but first I have to play the waiting game a bit. I have not heard anything concerning a job or my disbaility claim in quite some time now.

I know. The 350 in a 30's model Ford is indeed a sin in my book. But since the ranger isn't completely made in the U.S. now, it would be nice to have an "american made" engine under the hood of it to be honest about it. Cheap horsepower, easy to obtain parts and alot of other things were also considered before making my decision concerning this matter.

Re: 350 SBC In a Ranger.....
guess im a purist. i detest crossbreed sh*t. if you want a bigger v8 there are plenty of great ford engines. the engine should always come from the same brand. street rod, muscle car, or truck.
sad to see a good vehicle butchered. but like already said its yours so ruin anyway you see fit.

Well I tend to agree with this mentality most of the time, but not all of the time. There comes a time when you must look to an alternative solution. Ford has some great engines and I like alot of their stuff, but they also tend to be a budget killer at times as well. That is the main reason why I chose the old 350 SBC. Plus I want something that's a little different than the usual run of the mill stuff.

i personally am not a huge fan of chevy. but when you have a stroker just sitting in the garage, you go with what you got.

There is a very evil and painfully special place in hell for people who desecrate fords by putting chevy motors in them.

Re: 350 SBC In a Ranger.....
Well since you purists don't want me to, then too bad. The last time I looked it's my truck. I can do what ever I wish to it. Since you guys want to just blast me for it, then I can't and won't acknowledge you in any way.
