Default 4.0 to 5.0

i was looken into this but i need the 4x4 so i wanted to know how this would work would i use my t-case or would i need a bigger one like i was thinken maby buy an older 4x4 f150 for cheap and steal the motor trans and t-case but idk how that will work, a little info on this stuff would be nice but my 4.0 is getting old and tired and was liken the 302 idea so let me know my truck is a 1990 4.0 4x4 6" lift 3" body lift and with it being a 4.o its got the stronger axles so i should be good in the area what i realy wanted to know is the t-case stuff

From what I understand about the 1/2 ton transfer, depends on which one you get, some will require notching the frame rail to get enough room for it to fit.
I have read on TRS about people installing the engine and drive train from full size into a RBV, but don't remember what all had to be done to make it fit. It did not sound like it was a bolt in, and took lots of modification.

These folks have been working with older RBV's forever, if it can be done they will know how, or they can steer you in the right direction.
