Default mustang engine?

I was thinking about doing a mustang v8 swap with my 2000 ford ranger 3.0 v6 and building the mustang engine from the ground up using aftermarket lifters a hyper cam a hevyer flywheel and junk like that would you guys reccommend that i keep the factory standered auto tranny or is it really that hard to switch it to a manual tranny?
any info and input would be helpful

You will already have the hole in the floor for the shifter arm.

2wd to 4wd is not complicated. If you go with the electric style 4wd you gotta have all the wiring.
