Arrow Re: explorer 5.0 swaps

I've got a customer of mine that has built 3 gen 4's, 2 of which were AWD 5.0 swaps into Edge trucks, and his DD is a 01 Supercab with Explorer 5.0 and he says he gets mid 20's mpg.

Yes, it is possible. Quite a few people do 2wd swaps. I'm doing one now.

ok and most seem to do automatic considering thats wat came in a majority of the explorers but will the computer allow for the use of a t-5 or some other 5 spd tranny?

I know you can use a t-5 or other manual tranny, but I dont know which computer you have to use. I'm sure somebody will chime in that knows more than me!

you would have to have the transmission function disabled by the dealer in the computer but I believe you can still use the Explorer computer.

Really great place to start. I'm averaging 17 to 24 with my Mustang setup.

Rule of thumb, everything attached up to the belt detracts from HP(except a supercharger), hook up only the essentials and give it a set of good off road headers to go with the port and polish.

The best mileage is on long trips.
