Default weight 302 powered ranger?

Building a 1990 longbed ranger with a Aluma head 347 and fivespeed. Anyone have a close guess of the weight? Thanks, mikie

Mines on average around 3150, with the longbed as well.

I would love to get it down to 2900#s. I'm going to take all i can off the truck to trim some weight. But keep it street legal. After i pulled the stock stang motor out saturday, i no now the heater box has to go. Pain in the but, and dead in the way.

If your'e lookin to take off any weight at all, lighten up the engine getting rid of all the non essential smog crap. Don't take any out of the bed area, gonna need the weight to add traction as i've found. I had to fabricate a whole new heater box out of thin aluminum to clear the intake that came straight out, would have gone through the air conditioning condenser.

replace things like fenders and hood for fiberglass. Think of making custon radius arms out of solid aluminum (stronger and lighter). Things add up quickly good luck w the build

only fiberglass thing ive seen for a 90 ranger is a cowl hood thats about it

if you switch out the i beam suspension to something else you may be able to lose some weight there too

FiberwerX definitely makes fiberglass fenders for 1st and 2nd gens. Pricey, but light

just putting this out there, but I did find a one piece ford ranger front clip, but it was like a 1000.00. You can take the inner fenders out, but then the dirt will get on the engine if you drive on gravel or dirty wet roads.
