Greetings from the Midwest
This is just a c&p from my thread linked above:
I plan to start off with a complete tear-down until i get a rolling frame, blast, repair, box-in, and powdercoat the frame.
Next, I have to acquire a 302, 5 speed transmission, and a transfer case (I'm thinking about putting an NP208 in it), and solid front and rear Dana 44s or a solid front 44 and a rear 9".
I would like the engine to be a carb engine, but I don't know if it'll be easier to strip the wiring harness down for the carb engine, or if it'll be easier to get an 87-96 F150 donor truck and swap the electrics over. That part is still the source of debate between my brother and myself.
When the driveline is done, and mounted to the frame, then I'll work on the body.
The plan for the body is to get all the rust and dents repaired, painted a dark British Racing Green with silver Boss Mustang racing stripes, Rhino rockers, Rhino-lined underside, remount the grill guard, roll bar and wire up all 8 130-watt KC Daylighers.
Any and all input on what the best way to do this driveline mod, sources for (relatively) inexpensive parts, hints, tips, etc would be most graciously appreciated.
