Default Want a 302

I was looking around craigslist for a 302. I found both a motor and transmition for around 500. I know I will have to regear it. Besides a motor, transmition, and and regearing what else would I need to do?

Do you have a key with a microchip in it?

You'll need an ecm and harness that can run a 302, have the driveshaft shortened, the 5.0 engine mounts, umm there are other things to but that's about it for a basic swap. You should totally do it!

LOL, get it into the truck and start hooking stuff up until it's done.

All depends on what engine, trans, sounds like more research needs to be done on your end. Need to research, plan, buy. This is the fastest way to get the ball rolling, and to keep going so you don't get stuck needing to order something else. This your first engine swap?

^There you go!

4-5 G's breakdown: 1995 Mustang GT Convertible- $1000, DJM Lowering Kit- $750. That's where I am now; and here's what's left: R5 rear axle-(that's an 8.8 with 3.55's and LSD) from a scrap yard, vinyl floor to to be covered with a secret ingredient, paint for the dash and other interior parts, paint for the wheels and exterior parts, might put a stand alone ecm in it, gauges,
possibly seats and a console, drive shaft shortened, custom emblems, and more I can't think of right now I'm sure.

Yeah man. All my other trucks I never really needed anything bigger. They all had 350's.

witch axle do you have?

if its the stock 7.5 the 302 will rip that axle apart. when u buy your motor buy a complete expo. there is your axle, trans, motor, computers and any other parts you may need.
