Default Ranger noob has some 302 questions

Hey guys a friend of mine has a 93 LX mustang 5.0l 5speed.

after he pulls this motor/tranny/rear for new stuff im gonna slide it all into a ranger

what year truck would this be the easiest to do it with?
I want to keep the 5speed and i also want 2wd
i need it older than 93 so i dont have to pass emissions in MA\

well 1st and second gen rangers are the easiest to swap with, with is 83-92 model year. I wouldn't suggest using the stock ranger drivetrain, it can be done but it cant hold up to 5.0 power for very long. You can use an expo 8.8" or 9" Ford for the rear axle and a mustang transmission, but you might already know that
