Question True or false

I am planning on using a 5.0 out of a 1988 Merc Marquis to install into a 1990 Bronco II with a 5 speed. A friend who is retired now but owned a tranny shop for 15 years said that I could not use the engine out of a car with an auto trans for a manual trans swap because there would not be a hole for the pilot shaft or pilot shaft bushing to go into.
I disagreed because I've never heard this mentioned as a prob before.
So true or false?

Yeah I've been reading post after post and no one has mentioned this as an issue in an engine or tranny swap.
Thanks for responding.

ford engines unlike some chevys all have the hole in the crank for the bearing or bushing... whichever you use. as far as ive ever saw.
