ive been looking on here for awhile and im tierd so ill just ask. i want to put a 5.0 in my 03 ranger 4x4 and i would realy like to keep it manual. but all the site i find just say auto. so help me out and point me to where i can find the info i want.

Well it sorta cant be done with your truck, its got PATS, and to do a v8 swap you'll need to re-wire your whole truck and get rid of everything that has to do with PATS, which is about everything

Ive seen that people have done it with my truck they just all use the auto trans and i dont want the auto. i think a trans off a 150 5.0 works if you get the right year i think its the 2001 but i just read that i few seconds ago so i havent really done much research yet

yeah your going to have to find a manual 302 tranmission with a transfer case from a F-150 or Bronco

I can't think of his name but a guy swapped in a 5.0 in his LVLII and kept the truck a 5 speed. He also supercharged the 5.0 and swapped in the center information center. Someone on here will be able to tell you what his s/n is. IIRC he used a manual transfer case out of a F-150 not sure on the transmission tho.

i have an 04 i want a 4x4 4.6 manual trans a 97-03 f150 would be a perfect swap

if you really want a 5.0 4x4 manual trans i read that a 4.2 trans from a 97-03 would work and use the hydraulic part from your ranger

thats Bob. the truck when swapped is now an AUTO trans and a MANUAL T-case. from an expedition/f-150

It left the factory as a 4.0, 5-speed manual but got converted to 4R70W automatic at the time of the V8 swap. It is going to be V8 manual in its next incarnation.

yes with a little work anything will fit {i have two rangers w/ 351w zed 5spd 4x4, out of f250s,w/explorer rears, a third w/460 zed 5spd 2x4 and 9" locker} next one i plan to try is a 7.3l turbo diesel auto, i like things i'm told can't be done
