Hi everyone,

I am getting ready to do an engine swap on my Ranger.

Now I have a 302 that I am getting ready to buidfor my Ranger. The engine I plan on building will be carburated with a mild cam I plan on boreing the block .30 over at the least and I will be shooting for about 9.5:1 compression ratio. I am looking at getting a set of GT40 heads for this engine because I have heard that they are a bolt on horsepower item.


Now has anyone installed a set of these GT40 heads on there carburated engine? How much of a power increase can I expect?

I would appericat any information that you guys can give me about installing these heads on a 302 that will go into a Ranger.

on the average they make only about 25rwhp, but the GT40p is a better working head because of the tighter combution chambers about 58cc. that will get your compression were you want it with a flattop piston. the Gt40 cobra head has a gigger exhaust valve but a 64 to 65cc chamber
