If you are looking into turboing/supercharging your truck, there are not many downsides as long as the turbo is self contained using it's own oil lube. the only downsides to the turbo is a shorter engine life, enless you upgrade all six of your pistens and your drive shaft. because turbo is made to build pressure, and more pressure means more power. but. thats extra stress on your engine.

You might need to install Muffler Bearings at BOTH ends

You may want to check this thread out. This guy twin turboed his, now is an older ranger but I believe that the engine bay is the same from the late 80s all the way to 97. Good luck

i have a 98 ford ranger and i was wondering if a boss 302 small block would fit and mount to my trany and motor mounts like nothing

The fastest i've been in my truck was like 130-125 I saw some bikes racing towards me on the highway and I stepped on it for like 4-5 secs
then I started braking thats when i saw the spedo on 120 mph

On the track wise never been to one
ive been looking to turbo my truck its a 2001 V6 SOHC and i can make it all fit i just need to know do i have to do anything with the pistons? a few of my buddies have honda's and they had to do that to theirs. do i have to do the same?
