Default Swapping 302 Carbed into a late model 2008 Ranger

Hey Guys, I joined the Forum due to the love of my 87 Ranger, and to reserach the feasibility of putting a 302 into a later Ranger, say about a 2008. My reservations are in regards to the Electronics, since I want to go with a Carbed 302, and a T-5 standard trans. The fuel injection and computer will basically be rendered useless. I have a later 2012 Ford Fusion, which has the same PATS security system as a 2008 Ranger, and since I had an issue with the security system locking me out, while we were trying to program new keys, it locked up, and wouldn't allow the car to start, it wouldn't even crank over. Ford had to end up replacing the Dash unit. (which is a computer itself) to reset the system, and restore the car to normal.
I've never heard of anyone doing a swap, in this late a model Ranger? So I thought I better ask questions, before I get in over my head. I'm just not sure if I'd run into similar problems??????? Any Thoughts are appreciated.

Guessing you'd need to gut the whole wiring system, run a basic wiring to run the engine, ad your own gages, lights might not even work.

Two tuners can shut off the pats for ranger v8 swap if your interested. One does it via sct tuner. The other does it via mailing in the ecu to him. Both can be found on the facebook ranger v8 swap group. Both still active.

In Texas I believe I red that for an engine swap the vehicle has to retain all emissions equipment that came with the original vehicle, so usually from the same model year or newer. Iím possibly wrong though
