The T5 never came in the F150. They did come in the Mustangs though.
The M5OD came in the F150 trucks, and lots of people use those for their V8 swaps, but they do shift more like a big truck transmission. More "notchy" - That's where the T5 is a better choice for a street truck, at least in my opinion..
If you end up looking for an M5OD, then you'll want one that was originally behind the 4.6 in the F150.
If you end up looking for a T5, then it pays to do some research on Google to find out what donor vehicle you should be looking for to get one from. There were a lot of different specs for the T5. You don't want a T5 used in a 4cly car, and you don't want one from an S10. Remember, any T5 from a car of any kind is going to move the shifter waaay back, and it may interfere with some seats in a truck. That's why Modern Driveline started producing their own front shift tail housing for the T5. People have done an S10 T5 tailhousing swap, but it's less than ideal. It may have internal oiling issues, and the speedometer gear "fix" is far less than ideal as well.
