Default How plug and play is a 96 5.0 into a 96 Ranger

Like many others, I am starting a 5.0 swap in my ranger. The donor is a 1996 5.0 2wd explorer with an 8.8LS which everything beside the axle is pulled. It will be going into my 1996 Ranger 3.0 2wd. I was also planning on switching over the gauge cluster so I have the tach.

I have seen pretty much all the write ups and threads that pertain to this swap and as far as I can tell it is the most plug and play swap you could do. My only concern is wiring. I saw somewhere that there are some (maybe a dozen) pinouts that need to be modified. I am decent with wiring but when it comes to reading pinout diagrams and what not, thats where i can get a little confused.

Just trying to make the swap go as smooth as possible and dont want to get hung up a wiring confusion if there is any. Does anyone have any input on the swap that I need to look out for and is there anything that I should grab off the donor before i junk it?

I have looked there before. I think I may actually have it book marked. That is one of the better write ups I have read. The only thing that I find is that it focuses on a 98 4x4 for a lot of the information. I understand why the focus is more on that year ranger, but I feel that info for a 96 ranger has been left out.
