I ment a programmer as in a dude to find it in the ecu and disable it, but you could try the ecm swap, i heard that works too, i read it on v8 ranger forums

I would think any kind of ecu programer would be able to disable this pats your talking about like a diablo tuner or something of that nature, something that you can rewrite/burn/reprogram the chip

oh yes they will wyman00. Not a mark on them, but defiantly need new rubber. I think they'll play toward the sport truck look rather than mini truck.

Anyway guys, I'm getting pretty excited about starting soon. Ordering the suspension within the next couple of weeks, then searching for a manual ranger in the salvage lot for some other stuff. Looking good for the second weekend in september.

So I have finally started in on this and day 1 went pretty well. I got the interior trim and carpet out, removed the auto shifter lever, and removed the plate for the mani shifter to go through the floor. I've also got the engine mostly dressed to get yanked out. Back at it tomorrow. Hope to get the engine the rest of the way prepped, remove the bed and drop the rear. I also ordered the suspension today, finally decided to go for the DJM 4/5.

im doing the same project !! 95 gt 5.0 doner car in 89 ranger ... im picking the car up for 8 bills.. sooo stoked

ohh about the djm drop ... i have the 5 in. in the back and it sit perfect love it !!!!! but on my truck it was so low i had to cut the bump stops and now it hits frame on every single little bump and even worse with people in the truck so if u do it get a bolt on c notch thats what i didi to my fram and it gave me 2 1/2 more in . of clearence

Thanks for the heads up on the clearance, I got the bed off today, but it started raining so i had to pack it up. Suspension should be here tomorrow, but I don't think I'm going to get to work on it till Sunday. I think you'll have a way easier time with your swap though, I got a mouth full of specialty tool parts today, and there's so much crap on the 3.0 now. let me know how it goes for you, maybe we can trade ideas.
