ECM interchangeability

2003 Ranger 3.0 with a 5.0 from Explorer or F150. Plugs look the same. Wondering about wiring.

If you are wondering if you can use the f150 ecm, i dont believe its possible without a lot of repinning or tuning. Just to name a couple reasons, the f150's that came with the 5.0 had different transmissions than explorers so you would need that transmission (which if you are going with the M5OD-R2 that cancels that out). But if iirc, the f150s also run a different ignition system than that of the explorers. And i believe most of those 5.0 f150s are only OBD1 not 2 like you would need
