Alright guys, I managed to get a hold of a 1968 Ford 302 engine and a BW 4 speed transmission for free! I was thinking of a 5.0 efi engine and maybe a C4 trans as my buddy has one he would sell for a reasonable price, but free is free and both engine and trans have a fresh rebuild with 0 miles on them.

I was told by a few people that if I did a v8 swap i would need to reinforce the frame, is this true?

Are there any other things I need to be worried about, like negative side effects of going to a 302? Feel free to voice your opinions.

I know plenty of people who have v8 swaps and even diesel swaps in jeeps and old willy's and small pickups like S10's and nissan hardbodies... none of which did anything other than replace the engine and transmission. I will be putting a Ford 9" rear axle and D44 SAS up front so my axles will be able to take the added power.
