Default Headers?

99 5.0 v8 from explorer into my 99 ranger
Bought it like this
Wondering if anyone knows of a good way to get headers
Since torque monster and obx aren't made anymore
Is it even worth it to look or get some if I find them?

I found a set of motorsports headers from a guy that upgraded his explorer to torque monsters.

One look at the stock manifolds off lets you know it is well worth it.
I actually found mine on facebook. Just search daily for explorer motorsport headers and torque monsters on google, craigslist and e-bay eventually they do turn up.

Love the amazon green you have pics of your truck anywhere I have missed?

Na I haven't taken any pics
It's all stock except wheels and v8
Been debating on getting the 01-03 front
Or upgrading the front
Searching for ideas

Also I will keep on the search. They don't pop up that often
I haven't heard of Motorsport headers tho
Those work on the v8 swap?

100% yes on the fit. They have of course been discontinued but will work on the P heads as well as the GT40. If yours was out of a 99 it surly had P heads.

LOL absolutely not, they have already been in the ranger and back out for motor mount modifications but they fit like a glove. I halted my swap due to winter and other projects but will resume here in a month or so. Thanks for the interest though!

I have seen torque monsters 3 times now, twice on e-bay and once on CL mounted to a mountaineer that had a failed front differential. The FMS headers I only saw once and bought them. The torque monsters I hear are better than the FMS but anything has to be an improvement over the stock manifolds.

Stock 97 mountaineer:

Crazy there isn't any headers out

Custom headers will cost you about 2,000. Since mine were easy yours may be more

2 grand for headers
lol no thanks
I would be interested in knowing if there is a set you could buy that almost fit
Then had a shop modify it
Surprised I haven't heard of one that doesn't break your bank

Going prices for used is $500~$700 IF you can find them.

The Jegs would not work on your 99 without extreme modifications.

My custom exhaust was quoted about the same as dwayne's headers. I would have to have true duals lol. Will be facing that before I can drive it.

You should sign up at a half dozen or so explorer forums!
