If you want a permeant fix you can replace the switch in the door. I replaced mine (95 ford ranger) and its worked great ever since. If you cant find the switch it's likely hidden. I had to take the door panels off of mine and on the inside of the latch it was a little L shaped piece. Theres a security clip that holds it on just pop off and replace. Mine cost like 3 dollars a piece at the part store. Best luck.
