I owned S-10s, still own a full size Chevy and I just bought a '99 Ranger XL, 3.0 V6, auto, a/c, JVC stereo, long bed 160,000 miles and actually REALLY like it!
Drives easy, parks easy and gets about 19mpg. Pretty basic and I paid $1,100. for the truck, front brakes and wheel bearings $160, rack $250, tax and registration $190...
I feel that I did pretty good and like I said, the more I drive it the more I like it. It pulls San Francisco hills and does 80mph, on the freeway easy!
