For sale is a 1993 Mercury Topaz GS. I'm moving out of state, otherwise I would be keeping this car as my daily driver. I've had this car for a little over a year, and its been very dependable for me and my family/friends. I have the title in hand, and am ready to sell. To be honest, it has a few minor issues(see below),but for $600 OBO, you won't find anything much better than this, and you can drive it home.
The good:
smooth shifting automatic transmission
Strong 2.3 - 4 cylender engine (gets about 25mpg)
only has 150xxx miles (mostly highway miles)
recent oil change
newer tires
new computer
all power options (seat belts, windows*, locks, mirros, driver seat)
Newer battery
Newer brakes*
AM/FM Tape player, that works great.
Minimal digs/dents (bottom of back right door)
The bad:
*Driver window motor needs to be replaced
*the right rotor/brake bad is really bad, needs to be replaced. I do have lifetime brakes from
autozone.
Will need tabs next month.
Dimmer switch JUST went out last night, dash lights wont come on. (easy fix)
Emergency brake not working
The temp gauge on the dash works randomly, all the other gausges are perfect.
Could probably use a tune-up.
Minor tranny leak
All in all, with a few things fixed, you could have a perfect, long lasting car. But, you can drive it the way it is, just fix the rotor and brake. (you can drive it home!) This is a wonderful, clean car, and I hope to hear from you soon. $600 obo, but shoot me offers. The worst I can say is no.
