Re: Auto Transmission Fluid Change
Hello. I am new to the forum. I purchased a used 2006 Ford Ranger Sport 4x4 less than two weeks ago. It has the 4.0L V6 and it has an automatic transmission. It just hit 63,000 miles. I flushed the engine with Seafoam and changed the oil last weekend. This coming weekend I plan to change the automatic transmission fluid and the filter. I also plan to do the transfer case and the front and rear differentials at the same time. I don't know the the maintenance history so I am assuming that all the fluids are original except for the engine oil. I have purchased the transmission filter and all the fluids I need. I have been reading posts already about how to do a tranny flush. My questions are: If I want to flush the tranny and change the filter, which should I do first? Flush or change filter? Does anyone know which line is in and which is out on the tranny cooler? I have more questions but I am using the wi-fi at mcdonalds and they are about to boot me out of here. Any further advise would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
