One thing to keep in mind is that your front brakes are doing 70% of the braking and that it could be them. I would check the front passenger pads and rotor. Another thing, I use to have a 94 ranger. It had a manual transmission in it. If yours is to, I would check the throw out bearing. It was plastic in my 94. It could give a noise if worn.
