It may be worn out shocks.
When braking does the truck pull to one side or the other? let go of the steering wheel to determine if the brakes are dragging. One thing to keep in mind is that your front brakes are doing 70% of the braking and that it could be them. I would check the front passenger pads and rotor. Another thing, I use to have a 94 ranger. It had a manual transmission in it. If yours is to, I would check the throw out bearing. It was plastic in my 94. It could give a noise if worn.
