Not going to question it, but for those who don't check air frequently enough and assume that the local lube joint correctly does it every oil change, nitrogen might have a safety benefit. For me, I check the pressure frequently so I'm not paying to have my tires aired up with expensive nitrogen -- esp. since air is comprised of almost 80% nitrogen anyway. My thing is I get upset trying to find a gas station that has an air hose since most gas stations have done away with them. I also hate having to pay .75 (which isn't enough for me). I take the caps off first and check the pressure before inserting my coins, but I usually have to add another round of quarters. Last week, a Valero station actually took debit/credit cards for air purchases.
