When mine did that I would eject it with the truck off and it worked sometimes...if its anything like my stock 2000 I HAD to have a CD in there to play or it would cut out of the radio and search for a CD it ONLY did this after a CD got stuck and that was like 4 years a go. If you have the cash, I would get an aftermarket head unit.
