I just did this mod to my 2005 with 135,000 miles. There was about 1/2 inch of slack, and I was able to fit 2 small zip ties on there. I'll see the difference when I leave work in about an hour. Hopefully it'll help with my rough up-shifts. If there's a huge difference, I'll probably come up with a little more permanent fix. Or get some bigger ties. Those little zip ties seem pretty weak.
