I mentioned this in a thread in the suspension section but thought I'd post it here. Maybe this'll help somebody on a budget looking to reinforce rear springs and/or beef up their load capacity.
Autozone didn't show an application for coilover 'load leveler' shocks for the Ranger so I took the old shock in and the parts guy was very helpful. After looking up some different applications and pulling some shocks off the shelf, we matched up a pair of coilovers that fit just right, and they're only $110 for the PAIR.
They are Gabriels and the part # is 43167. I dunno if that's the Autozone # or the Gabriel #.
They fit perfect on our 2000 B3000. Raised the rear about 1", increased load capacity and reduced sag. It rides a tad stiff when empty but personally I like the tight ride, and it's really smooth with a load on.
Hope this helps somebody looking for a low-cost fix for their saggy rear springs...
