I've never been a fan of those "load resistors", they're basically just large ceramic resistors (sometimes in a fancy metal casing) that puts more load on your circuit tricking your electrical system into thinking there's a bulb there.
As you can imagine, the increased load of that big resistor creates heat which is never a good thing.
An EP27 electronic, sometimes called LED flasher has built in circuitry that will stop the hyperflash without resistors & most times they'll be more heavy duty than the stock flashers.
Best $20 I ever spent.
