I wanted running boards to help keep the salty sludge from accumulating on door panels. Also, the nerf bars I have seen in this area are all rusted away and look like junk in a few years. I plan to get the truck undercoated, too. Fighting rust in Ohio is a full time job and you have to stay ahead of the problem because catching up is so costly.
