I had an electrician come and check out my set up and he gave his okay on it. I have a fuse in the loop and the wire is insulated everywhere it could possibly heat up. I know that the relay is safer but we couldnt make it work with it (my friend and I, not the electrcian) so we just made a big loop back to the battery.

It works now and looks pretty damn good, thanks for the help guys
