Default Not getting very much air out the ac ducts?

my 2007 Ranger air conditioning works ok except when it gets really hot and then its a real PITA.

When I have the blower on High I hear the blower spool up to full tilt but very little more air comes out the vents. Seems like the airflow is restricted. I have been all over the engine bay and under the dash looking for the air intake to see if I sucked something in it to restrict but can't find the booger! where is the air intake for the heater/ac system?

I was in Palm Springs yesterday and the A/C would not keep up with the temp there and gave up and rolled down the windows. Its blowing cold air just not enough to keep up on a really hot day.... As I click the fan motor I hear it gaining speed with every notch, but not so much out the vents

anybody have this problem before?

Thanks
