its a pull off... its a pain in the ass to get it off... i ended up cutting the rubber part off of mine then theres a plastic shell, used a hammer to break that, then a hack saw to cut the next layer (metal shell) and more plastic under that. (this was on an 07) i ended up cutting ~4" off the shift handle and putting in a threaded bit so i could easily add in a twist off... ill upload pics of my truck later today for you.
