I don't really think this is his problem as it would be more likely if his problem was no start.
Just for the record tho, it is very simple to change. It mounts just below the Harmonic Balancer to the passenger side of the engine. It is held on with 2 bolts and and the electrical connector. It helps to take the serpentine belt off some of the pulleys to gain some access to the bolts.
