Check with your state agencies. Most, if not all, states regulate vehicle sales and service. Many also have a "cooling off" period for major purchases like a car, house or some others.

Just because a saleman with a vested interest in completing the deal tells you that your deposit is non-refundable does not necessarily make it so.

If you find out that you have a right to a refund, press them hard. They probably won't give in easily but they will follow the law if you insist.

Most states have review boards for "problem" businesses like vehicle sales/service or house sales/improvements. They MAY be required by law to investigate problems for you at no charge. You should definitely check into it.
