No not exactly. What I'm saying is that some of todays V8 engines are alot more fuel friendly than what they were. Plus if you take that same 3.0 or 4.0 engine and place it in a vehicle that is about 2,000 lbs lighter, it will do 10 times better in terms of fuel economy than it ever did. That's basicly what everyone is saying. That 5.0 swap from an F150/ 1999-2001 Ford explorer going into a Ranger that originally had a 4 banger in it, is roughly about 1/2 of the weight it's used to be moving around. So that means alot less power is needed to move the ranger around and since it is pushing less weight, alot better fuel economy than what it normally would get. That's the ultimate fuel economy secret: WEIGHT REDUCTION.
