fuel tank fill tube
ok so my ranger recently had a step side bed. swapping over to regular bed. bad news the guy i got the bed from was going to give the the fill tube. bad news it was no good. now i need to find a way to extend this fill tube about 3-4 inches maybe little more or less. any ideas?
i thought about going to lowes or somewhere gettin gsome hose and couple couplings and just making it longer where it connects to the fuel tank... but something tells me thats a bad idea.. any ideas are appreciated

Had cracks in my gas neck filler tube. (Advanced Auto $180, new from dealer $arm leg.) went to junkyard, $6.79. That is not a type error. Six dollars that is. Make sure the tube is the same, they differ somewhat. I have a 94 and a 96 would not work. I pulled the bed off of 2 different trucks due to not checking first. 6 Torx bolts remove the bed. bring a long breaker bar, the bolts are tight and rusted in the bed. Move the bed back about a foot and that's all the room you need. Make sure you remove the 3 small bolts at the gas cap before the bed. Clamps are on the tube. Make sure that the junkyard tube has no cracks as they like to split over time. Oh yeah, unplug the lights under the bumper, straight screw driver will help with disconnect on the lights.
