Default rough idle and shutter in gear

My son's 98 ranger 2.5l idle's good on start up but as soon as you put it in gear the idle drop's and truck tries to stall out , it does this when you pull up to stop sign also. other than that the run's good through out rpm range. new plugs, Iac, EGR, EGR sensor, air filter.PVC . Any help would be appreciated
Thanks David

Check for leaking vacuum hoses, cracked air pipes, anything that will affect the A/F mixture.... especially after the MAF....normally these are little problems but difficult to find... one way is to get some aerosol lube ( something like WD-40) and with the engine running spray a little bit at each vacuum hose where it connects to a sensor or a pipe. If there is any change in the engine (idle speed, smoothness, etc) you found the leak.....it does not take much of a leak to confuse the computer..it is monitoring the F/A mixture with the O2 sensors, and constantly adjusting the fuel trim to try and keep it where it needs to be... if there is extra air getting into the manifold through a leak it gets confused.... hope this helps....be persistent.. you will find it...

Happy New Years
