Default Engine swap or rebuild , i need advice

hi all i got a 94 ranger with the 2.3 , and i was recommended to replace my engine because my pistons are bad , my cylinder head is bad which i meantion in other posts and my brake cylinder is bad and lastley the guy said my block needed work

what im wanting to know is it very difficult to do an engine swap on this vehicle , i have never done it before so any experience other people have would help

I got a price of a motor $500 and someone can install it for me but wants $300 for labor and im tryin to save money because this is a big problem now , or if i did a rebuild would it cost about the same to do what im saying

it would cost more to have yours rebuilt.. see your other post

you will still need a head... then the block will need bored and new pistons and have them hung along with a rebuild kit, you will be about $1000 in getting the engiine built plus the install

well i just got a price for $800 totally installed , is that a good price

The engine does come with a warrenty and i found out my friend has been buying engines from this guy for a while so i feel a little better about trusting him

I guess the good thing is , i dont have to worry about getting another head , is there anything on my head now other then the crankshaft that i could probably get any money for

you mean the cam shaft....

nope not really

but do yourself a favor... on the engine you will have installed.. change the rear main seal, and oilpan gaskets out... now will be the time to do it with it out

you may want to keep the whole short block, and then you can do a slow build on it as money allows.
