Hi Ranger owners, I havent found the page that discusses filling a manual transmission. Could someone direct me to a page or tell me the easiest way to fill the trans (without buying a pump) I have a flexible hose and funnels. But it looks like gravity my not be on my side. Any help please. thanks alot

i always just take a bucket and place it under my trans, pull the fill plug out and pull the shifter out. i take and pour the fluid thru the shifter hole and listen for it to start pouring out of the fill hole into the bucket then i know its full. the trans hold like 2.9 qourts if im not mistaken in the 2.3 MDO5 trans

hey bagged, yeah for awhile I was looking for a way in thru the floor board, anyway yeah 2.9 quarts. the idiot at the parts store sold me 4 quarts. next time im gonna jack the truck on the left and just put in all 3 quarts so there is no cleanup. so it had 36k miles and started to feel notchy. i used merc v and it shifts as new. what about that case at the rear axle, do you need to remove the entire back cover to drain the fluid??
