bigger cam 2.3/2.5 will it set a check engine light?
hi, i current have a 1999 ford ranger 4.0 4x4 lifted.
im wanting to get a 2wd 2.3 or 2.5 witch ever one is better?
what i am wondering is if i put a bigger cam in a obd2 ranger will it set off a check engine light?
all tips and help will be great full thanks

ok thanks! with that would it hurt to do bigger valves, valve springs, shave the head and put bigger injectors?

If the installation is done right it won't, like has been said. However I think the limits on for a cam in a I4 engine is like .475". Only times I've seen a higher lift was in trucks with upgraded rotating assemblies along with bossing and milling of the valvetrain. Something to ponder...
