Hard starting after sitting 30 minutes
I have a 88 4x4 2.9, it starts good in the morning, after a short drive and sitting about 30 minutes it has to turn over lots before it will start. any other conditions it starts good. it has a new fuel pump, filters, and temp sen. in the thermostat neck.

sounds like maybe a faulty fuel pump? do you hear it prime when you turn your key on? I was thinking fuel line pressure check valve but it wouldn't make sense for it to start in the morning... How new is the fuel pump?

How OLD are your Spark Plugs, "wires"???
Oil leaking into Cylinders (worn Valve seals?) thereby fouling Plugs???
